September 28, 2023 (JUBA) – The U.S embassy has strongly condemned the September 23 attack on a convoy of trucks returning from delivering aid to children and families in South Sudan’s Central Equatoria State. Two drivers were killed and a third one injured when trucks were delivering items procured by the UN children fund (UNICEF) were attacked in Yei River County. Also destroyed, UNICEF said on Sunday, were critical humanitarian resources. “We offer our condolences to the families of the victims,” the US embassy said.
