The room honors Eldred, a former Cayuga County historian and Union Springs High School history teacher who “generously shares his deep knowledge of military history with students and researchers,” the museum said in a news release. Eldred also served on the county bicentennial committee, is a founding member of the museum and has written several articles for local newspapers about his world travels.
