Tory Lanez posed for a new mugshot Tuesday after being transferred to a state prison where he will continue to serve time after being convicted of shooting Megan Thee Stallion.
The 31-year-old Canadian “Say It” rapper, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, is now at North Kern State Prison in Delano, Calif.
He appeared emotionless in the new picture, which was revealed five days after he was denied bail.
Tory Lanez had asked Judge David Herriford to release him on bail so he could live with his son and wife while his team work on his appeal.
Tory Lanez can find plenty to do in order to stay busy while he's locked up, we're told the prison offers a bunch of different jobs with wages ranging from $.08 an hour for unskilled labor, and up to $.30 an hour for skilled labor ... but he's gotta apply for those gigs.
The prison reportedly houses around 4,000 inmates, and many of them were murdered just this year, according to TMZ. Serial killer Ramon Escober was charged for killing his cellmateJuan Villanueva in February. Juan had been put behind bars for aggravated sexual assault of a child. Ricardo Saldivar, 25, was also found dead in his cell, and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is now investigating his death as a homicide. Although the prison is fitted with an electric fence around the perimeter, reports claim that multiple inmates have managed to escape over the years.
Lanez was convicted of negligent discharge of a gun, assault with a gun and carrying a loaded and unregistered gun.
Megan, 28, faced criticism from Lanez’s fanbase after his sentencing but the “WAP” rapper had some choice words for the naysayers during a performance at Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on Aug. 14.
During the shooting trial, Megan Thee Stallion said she was shot in the foot after she and Lanez got into an argument after they both attended a house party hosted by Kylie Jenner in Hollywood Hills back in July 2020.
