August 23, 2023 (KHARTOUM) – More than 4.5 million people have been displaced inside and outside Sudan due to the conflict that erupted on 15 April between the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), the UN said. Nearly 76% of the displaced people, the UN humanitarian agency (OCHA) said, are from Khartoum, while adding that recent clashes between the SAF and RSF in Nyala town of South Darfur, have displaced an estimated 50,000 people.
