Wood County voters resoundingly rejected state Issue 1 at the polls on Tuesday. The local vote was 14,746 against (60%) and 10,000 for (40%), according to unofficial results from the Wood County Board of Elections. Other Wood County numbers: 15,934 ballots were cast on Election Day. There were 8,846 absentee votes. There were zero provisional votes. Total votes cast were 24,780. The voter turnout was 17% on Election Day and 10% for absentee, with a total turnout of 27%. There are 94,553 registered voters in Wood County.
