Mega Millions sell tickets by1.6 M , Did anyone win ?!

The Mega Millions jackpot prize is now estimated to be at about $480 million, making it the 14th largest prize in the lottery game's history, after no tickets sold matched all six numbers in the drawing on Friday.

The drawing for the prize money will be on Tuesday, which will be the 24th roll for it since the jackpot was last won on April 18 in New York.

  • While there was no grand prize winner, one player matched all five white balls drawn to win $1 million in the drawing. That ticket was sold in California.
  • However, that player did not play the Megaplier option, which would have increased their winnings to $3 million.
  • In Michigan, two tickets sold matched four white balls and the Mega Ball to win $10,000 in the drawing. That was the largest prize won in the state.

Saturday's Mega Millions jackpot, however, saw no one from any state win it, meaning the next jackpot is now an estimated $480 million, says the California Lottery.

Mega Millions draws take place Tuesdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. pacific time. Players must buy their tickets before 7:45 p.m. on the day of the draw in order to be included and any tickets purchased after 7:45 p.m. would be eligible for the following draw.

No one matched all the numbers in Friday night's Mega Millions drawing, so the jackpot for the next drawing on Tuesday is now up to $480 million.

But don't throw away your tickets! You could still win a smaller prize if you matched some numbers.

Several lottery players across the Golden State have struck it big this year, including one man from Altadena who won the record-setting $2.04 billion jackpot in February. He elected to take the lump sum of $999.7 million. Since then, he’s bought several luxury properties in the L.A. area, including a mansion in Hollywood Hills for $25.5 million.

Other recent winners include two men from Orange and Alameda counties who won $5 million each on scratch off games in May, and another man from San Mateo County who won $2 million in the same month.
