Championship battle: Florida Gators vs LSU baseball Game 1

Due to weather, Game 1 of LSU-Kentucky has been rescheduled to a 7:06 p.m. CT first pitch

Pregame broadcasts of LSU Baseball games begin 30 minutes prior to first pitch.

The Florida Gators and LSU Tigers get together on the diamond with the highest possible stakes beginning on Saturday. The 2023 College World Series Finals begins in best-of-three fashion with Game 1. The matchup is set for Charles Schwab Field in Omaha. Florida is the No. 2 seed, topping TCU to advance to the final, while LSU is the No. 5 seed, knocking off Wake Forest on Thursday to reach this point.

Caesars Sportsbook lists the Tigers as -120 favorites (risk $120 to win $100) on the money line, while the over/under or total number of runs Vegas thinks will be scored, is 9 in the latest Florida vs. LSU odds. OMAHA, Neb. – After tearing his ACL and meniscus on Opening Day last season, Cade Beloso came back to LSU baseball for one more chance.

One more chance to hear the roar of the LSU crowd. One more chance to step into the box at The Box. One more chance to win a national championship.

Beloso accomplished those first two objectives back in February. Because of one swing of the bat on Saturday night, he's now one win away from checking off that final box on his list.

LSU is one win away from a national championship. The Tigers (53-16) are at that point after defeating Florida 4-3 in the first of a best-of-three 2023 College World Series final.

LSU will have to go about its business without Skenes, who threw eight shutout innings Thursday night, unless the championship series does reach a Game 3 on Monday night and even still, he likely won't be ready for another lengthy start. Florida's staff is rested, but it's their biggest bats who need to wake up. Cade Kurland, Langford and Caglianone, who came to Omaha having raked a combined 66 homers and 216 hits, have scuffled at The Chuck with a combined 4-for-38 at the plate. That's a .105 batting average.

"There is a real adjustment to be made here in this ballpark, a big place where runs and extra base hits can be hard to come by," O'Sullivan said. "But we're both in the same boat. So, add that to your similarities list."

It's a long list. And at the top of that inventory a similar goal: Win the 2023 Men's College World Series.

"You want to play against the best," Morgan said as he headed out to the field practice. "I think that whenever we are done here, whichever team wins, no one can doubt that we did that."
