May 18, 2023 (NYALA) – Clashes resumed on Thursday between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), in the capital of South Darfur state, ending a truce mediated by local leaders between the two parties several weeks ago. “The clashes erupted after army soldiers received their salaries from the Central Bank of Sudan branch in Nyala. The RSF rejected what they perceived as unequal treatment,” local security sources told Sudan Tribune. The sources pointed out that a bloody clash took place near the state’s central bank premises. The fighting subsequently spread to other neighbourhoods in Nyala. Earlier, on April 17, Al-Burhan issued a decision to dissolve the Rapid Support Forces
