Heavy Lifting, a multi-media presentation featuring poetry, art and film, comes to the Willits Community Theatre’s Starlight Lounge poetry series on Saturday, May 13. The event begins at 7 p.m. Heavy Lifting is the brainchild of Mendocino Village book designer and publisher Felicia Rice and Ukiah poet Theresa Whitehill. It is being presented in response to the devastating fires that have ravaged Mendocino County and other parts of California in recent years, and especially to the Santa Cruz County fire which destroyed Rice’s letterpress print shop and her life’s work in 2020. After the fire, Rice moved back to her childhood home of Mendocino, and rebuilt her life and print shop. Whitehill of
