A Point Arena man was arrested this week for allegedly hitting another man in the head with a rock outside the city’s public restrooms, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office reported. According to the MCSO, deputies responded to the city facilities in the 200 block of Main Street around 2:10 p.m. March 5 for a report of “an intoxicated man causing a disturbance at the Point Arena City Park near the public bathrooms.” Before deputies arrived, the man reportedly began throwing rocks at people, and medical personnel were dispatched for a “person with a traumatic head injury” nearby. When deputies arrived at the scene, they described seeing a man identified as Alejandro Ortiz, 34, of Point Arena
