Nearly 70 years after 14-year-old Emmett Till was kidnapped and murdered by two white men, the House has passed a resolution to posthumously award both he and his mother, Mamie Till-Mobley, the Congressional Gold Medal.  The resolution, titled the Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley Congressional Gold Medal Act of 2021, was introduced by Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) and Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) in February 2021.
