Ahead of the G-20 summit in Indonesia, a WTO report on Monday said that the G20 countries introduced export restrictions at an increased pace during mid-May and mid-October 2022 in the back of global economic uncertainties. G20, a grouping of developed and developing nations, members include Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Russia, the UK, the US, among others. It said that as of mid-October 2022, WTO (World Trade Organisation) members still had in place 52 export restrictions on food, feed and fertilizers, in addition to 27 export restrictions on products essential to combat COVID-19. Of these, it said 44 per cent of the export restrictions on food
