September 12, 2012 (KHARTOUM) – A Sudanese official has warned against unilateral measures that may affect the situation in the oil-producing Abyei region. Ambassador Dafa’alla Al-Haj, the acting Undersecretary of Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs made the remarks during a meeting with the head of the Abyei Task Force at the United Nations Department of Peace and Humanitarian Affairs, Valerie De Campo in  Khartoum on Monday. He specifically cited the Security Council Resolution 2046, which represents the road map towards a solution for the contested region of Abyei as the main document guiding the relationship between Sudan and South Sudan.
