August 30, 2022 (KHARTOUM) – The United States, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is providing $100,000 in immediate assistance for people affected by heavy rains and severe flooding in Sudan. The flood, according to aid agencies, has resulted in the death of at least 89 people, affected more than 226,000 others and destroyed or damaged more than 47,000 houses.
