August 4, 2022 (JUBA) – South Sudan’s president, Salva Kiir has fired Finance minister Agak Achuil Lual and Central Bank Governor Moses Makur Deng. The officials were sacked in a decree read on the state television (SSBC) on Thursday. Kiir, in the decree, appointed Dier Tong Ngor, as the new Finance minister while the bank’s first deputy Johnny Ohisa was appointed acting governor. Lual, a professional accountant, has been Finance minister since November last year.
