Mendocino County sheriff’s deputies were on routine patrol on South State Street in Ukiah at 11:54 p.m. July 5, when they observed a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction and identified Tobias Wood, 29, of Ukiah, as a passenger in the vehicle. The deputies were familiar with Wood and knew him to have a felony warrant for his arrest, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office stated in a news release on Monday. The deputies performed a traffic stop on the vehicle, which came to a stop in the 600 block of South State Street. They contacted Wood and the driver, subsequently identified as William Kidd, 51, of Ukiah. The deputies said they observed Kidd moving items around inside the vehicle as
