The Qatar Stock Exchange Thursday fell below 12,200 points despite buying interests at the insurance, real estate and consumer goods counters. The Gulf institutions were seen net profit takers as the 20-stock Qatar Index shed about 46 points or 0.37% to 12,191.3 points, having touched an intraday high of 12,294 points. The domestic funds continued to be net sellers but with lesser vigour in the market, whose year-to-date gains were at 4.86%. The foreign institutions’ were seen increasingly into net buying in the bourse, whose capitalisation saw more than QR2bn or 0.3% decrease to QR684.02bn, mainly on the back of microcap segments.
