Those likely to be affected, Save the Children said on Wednesday, include children under the age of 15 who reportedly form 40% of the population in Sudan. The latest United Nations figures, the agency said, show an increase of two million people since previous figures were released, when 9.6 million people were acutely food insecure, and highlight the severity of the hunger crisis in the country. “The hunger crisis is hitting Sudan hard and the Sudanese people have suffered long enough”, said Arshad Malik, Save the Children’s Country Direct
