P A Mubarak (66), one of the pioneers of journalism among expatriates in Qatar and a senior Indian scribe, passed away in Qatar on Saturday. He had been undergoing treatment for post-Covid-19 complications for over two months. One of the first generation Indian journalists in Qatar, he was the country correspondent for ‘Chandrika’ daily for a long time. He was a former employee of Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry and had been running his own business after retirement from the ministry. His wife, Najiya Mubarak, had succumbed to Covid-19 in Qatar in April this year. He is survived by two daughters, Nadia Shameen and Fatima Mubarak, and sons-in-law Mohamed Shameen (Etisalat, UAE) and
