An arson fire scorched a storage shed behind a Ukiah grocery store early Thursday, the Ukiah Valley Fire Authority reported. UVFA Battalion Chief Justin Buckingham said the fire was first reported as igniting a metal shed behind Grocery Outlet on North State Street around 2:30 a.m. Sept. 2 , but the fire was actually behind Ukiah Natural Foods in the 700 block of South State Street. Buckingham said the fire was so hot that the contents inside the metal shed burned during the fire, which was determined to be arson.
