Qatar Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (KMCC) Ernad constituency secretary and a native of Keezhuparambu in Malappuram district, K E Ashraf, was honoured with a bravery award by the constituency committee. He saved two children, aged eight and 12, of a Keralite family from drowning in the sea while celebrating Eid al-Adha holiday at Al Khor Al Thakhira Beach, the committee said in a statement. A Qatar resident for 12 years, Ashraf is currently an employee of the Ministry of Interior. Ernad constituency committee president Ajmal Areekode presented the award.
