A vegetation fire that briefly threatened a large apartment complex in Ukiah Wednesday is being deemed “suspicious” in origin, the Ukiah Valley Fire Authority reported. UVFA crews were dispatched to the area between the railroad tracks and the former community garden at the Summercreek Village Apartments on Village Circle shortly before 3 p.m. June 30 when “multiple callers” reported a vegetation fire had started along the tracks.
