As the COVID-19 infections continue to surge in the city despite the restrictions, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has decided to increased the bed strength for the dedicated COVID hospitals. BMC has requested the Health Department to run dedicated COVID wing of the SUM hospital to its full capacity. It has also urged the Government to function Aditya Ashwini Hospitals to its 50 per cent strength. The Government is also mulling on re-starting and two other covid care centres from this week.
