It’s game day, Bulls fans! But don’t get too excited. It’s another matchup against a stacked Philadelphia 76ers team, and let’s just say the odds aren’t exactly in Chicago’s favor.
It’s also an early tipoff today, so make sure you don’t miss it!
On the agenda, we have what could be the return of the first player acquired during the Bryson Graham era. Josh Giddey shares how his return could help the Bulls, while Tiago Splitter talks about the team’s process and where things go from here.
A lot to talk about, so let’s talk Bulls basketball.
Chicago Bulls center Nic Claxton poses during Media Day. I feel like I’m stuck in a time loop, talking about the Bulls playing the same three teams over the last two weeks. But tonight, the Chicago Bulls are set to host the Philadelphia 76ers at the United Center. The Bulls are 1-7 this season and riding a six-game losing streak. But even then, they could still avoid the NBA’s so-called relegation zone, with five teams yet to get past their first win. The Bulls host the 76ers tonight, a matchup they already lost earlier this week. However, there’s a small chance that tonight, the Bulls might actually be the only team in this matchup with a healthy, fully available center rotation. And maybe, just maybe, that could make a difference. That big-man advantage comes from the fact that 76ers center Adem Bona is OUT, while Joel Embiid is QUESTIONABLE. On Chicago’s side, Jalen Smith is healthy, and all signs point toward Nic Claxton making his Bulls debut tonight in front of the home crowd. Claxton was the first acquisition of the Bryson Graham era, with Chicago trading away almost half of their available cap space to bring in the lengthy big man. The hope was that Claxton could hold down the fort defensively for a team that, quite frankly, hasn’t had much going for it lately. His arrival also moves a very competent big man in Jalen Smith to the bench, where he could potentially even share the floor with Claxton and give the Bulls a stronger double-big lineup. Every little bit helps, as long as Nic’s back holds up. Claxton believes his return can help the team by bringing in some “fresh energy”, “swagger” and “intensity” to the Bulls. All signs pointing toward Nic Claxton making his Bulls debut tomorrow.Spoke to media today after practice. — Elias Schuster (@Schuster_Elias) November 6, 2026 While Tiago Splitter didn’t confirm Claxton’s return, Josh Giddey spilled the beans and had this to say:“He’s a smart, high IQ player,” said Giddey. “His passing is very underrated, the way he can facilitate from the top of the key and the elbow… He’s going to be a massive addition to us tomorrow.”

— Gavin Dorsey (@gjdorsey7) November 7, 2026 So, beyond his defensive impact, size and ability to finish lobs, are we also getting a top-of-the-key playmaker? Now, a realist would probably say we’re expecting a lot out of Claxton, and it’s unlikely that his arrival is going to magically fix everything that’s wrong with this Bulls team. But I’ll choose to be an optimist today and say, let’s see what happens. In line with the team they’re set to face, the Bulls are also in the middle of their own ‘process,’ one they’ll need to trust. As intriguing as Claxton’s arrival is, and as poorly as the Bulls have played, it’s still early in the season.“It’s early in the season,” said head coach Tiago Splitter. “We’ve played against a lot of good teams and we can’t just judge everything by those games. We’re all frustrated. We all want to win. We all want to play better. But we’ve got to be patient too.”
And patience is probably the hardest part of this process. But beyond that, it’s also about playing the right way and sticking to what the game plan calls for. That’s another point Splitter was keen to emphasize.Tiago Splitter talks about coaching a young Bulls team, especially during a brutal opening stretch of opponents:“More than Ws or Ls, I think the process has gotta be right. The way we play has gotta be right.” pic.twitter.com/wY15vZ0LMe
