The Young and the Restless star Melissa Claire Egan took to the red carpet at the 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, where she caught up with Parade and explained exactly which of her former co-stars she would love to reunite with.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Egan explained to Parade that the person she would love to reunite with the most is her former All My Children husband, Cameron Mathison. “He was my first TV husband on All My Children 20 years ago, and I love him, and he’s one of my besties.”
The actress explained that she hasn’t had the opportunity to catch up with the current General Hospital star in a while, but is adamant that the person she wants to see again is her affectionately nicknamed “Cammy.”
Back in July of 2006, Egan joined the cast of All My Children as Annie Novak, returning to the soap opera on which she had played an extra years earlier.
During her time on the program, she was nominated for three Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, and had many complicated storylines. From her on-and-off relationship with Ryan Lavery (Mathison), to marrying the great Adam Chandler and having an affair with Adam’s son, JR Chandler, to kidnapping her daughter multiple times, Egan proved to be a powerhouse of an actress.
Following the cancellation of All My Children in 2011, Egan moved from the fictional land of Pine Valley to Genoa City, where she joined the cast of CBS’s The Young and the Restless as Chelsea Lawson, a role she has played ever since.

For her work on The Young and the Restless, Egan has been nominated for five Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series; she has also won Best New Character at the Soap Awards France.
While All My Children has come to an end, former stars Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are actively working on a series of continuation movies for Lifetime, which could bring the world of Pine Valley back to viewers’ television screens, with two films already written and in active development.
The first film was penned by Daytime Emmy Winners Ron Carlivati and Jamey Giddens, with the second film written by Leo Richardson. If the films are made, Egan’s dream of reuniting with Mathison could become a reality in the near future.
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS and streams weeknights on Paramount+.
