The publishing giant took to Instagram to tease the second book in The Valkyrie Cycle. There, they posted the first teaser from the next two movements: “You can’t just make a God.”

Previously, Maas explained to Alex Cooper on Call Her Daddy that The Valkyrie Cycle challenged the way that she could tell her story. “I decided I wasn’t going to approach this project from a traditional format of a book.”
She examined the project from the perspective of “What if this book was really long?” She explained that the story she wanted to tell could be more than a thousand pages long. Questioning what if it took that long to “tell the story that needed to be told, the arc that I wanted to create from start to finish? What if that took a long time? Like what if that took beyond the constraints of a single volume? And what does that look like? How do I tell that story?”
As a result, The Valkyrie Cycle was born. Book 6 was the first movement, while book 7 would include movements two and three, with Book 8 concluding the story. Maas explained that the three books are not a trilogy, as in three separate books telling one story; rather, each book is a piece of one large book, ultimately meant to be read as one story.
As of the interview back in March, Maas had written the first movement and was working on the second and third, but had yet to begin the conclusion.
