Collin Gosselin has a new message for his mom, Kate Gosselin, after the release of his memoir.
To celebrate his book, In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood, topping the New York Times Bestseller List for the second week in a row, Collin, 22, shared a poignant Instagram post on Friday, October 30.
“To everyone who has shown me love, believed in me, and supported my journey, thank you. You remind me every day that there is so much more love in this world than cruelty,” he wrote.
Collin then addressed his mother directly, writing, “To my mother, who continues to spread lies in an attempt to conceal her abuse and break my spirit, it’s not working.”

He vowed to continue speaking out about his childhood experience despite the challenges involved.
“My determination to speak out for survivors will always be stronger than your attempts to silence me. You will never stop my mission to protect and advocate for other victims of abuse,” he continued.
Collin concluded the post by sharing his gratitude for those who have supported him and said he was “deeply honored” that his book is a bestseller.
In his memoir, Collin detailed his experience growing up on reality TV through Jon & Kate Plus 8, which aired from 2007 to 2017.

Collin alleged in the book that Kate, 51, was physically and emotionally abusive before he was able to live with his dad. Kate has repeatedly denied the allegations.
In the memoir,Collin further claimed that his mother Kate’s alleged physical and emotional abuse toward him intensified when he started to refuse filming Jon & Kate Plus 8.

Kate and Jon eventually divorced in 2009 after a decade of marriage. Kate was granted primary custody of the pair’s eight children. Collin, for his part, was institutionalized at Fairmount Behavioral Health System in Philadelphia when he was 12 years old over alleged behavioral issues.
Jon ultimately sought custody of Collin and was also granted custody of daughter Hannah. The remaining siblings continued to live with Kate.
Kate recently took to TikTok to explain why many of her children have not commented publicly on the release of Collin’s book.
“They do not want to be involved, and I support them on it,” Kate wrote on October 27. “They are busy in college or living productive lives in their careers. They don’t have interest in reliving the trauma, and they certainly don’t need to ‘help’ their mom!”
