That also make me even talk more smack and boost me up a little more, get into a different mode, as well. I’ll be in a different mode that game.
“I get it. You’ve got a first-round pick like Caleb Williams, which is a great player. Watching a couple games when he was at USC, he’s a hell of a player. But it’s a different league, and I’m excited to play him the first game.”
Jeffery Simmons having plenty to say about Caleb Williams’ nails before his rookie debut in 2024, only to join forces with him three seasons later is poetric.

We’ve spilled plenty of virtual ink on how Simmons’ arrival impacts the team on the field. But I hadn’t thought about how some fun quotes could spice up our lives.
That said, I want to close by reiterating what I said in 2024: None of what Simmons says about the Bears quarterback was mean-spirited, distasteful, offensive, or even bothersome. It was good-natured, old-fashioned ribbing from one player to another on a team his squad was set to face. Still, it is hilarious that the two are about to be teammates. I want to be a fly on the wall at Halas Hall for their (re)introduction.
