Oh, Hey! The First Bears Injury Report Of Week 8 Is Here, Too! ...Middle East

Sport by : (Bleacher Nation) -

Are we all excited about the execution of the trade that brought Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons to the Chicago Bears? Duh. But there is *OTHER* news to discuss today. Earlier, we shared some news on the latest from our obsessive Bears stadium watch. And now, we have a Bears injury report to discuss.

Not to be lost in the mandess of everything else happening today is that the Bears play a football game on Monday. Because it is on Monday Night Football, the injury reports are dropping a day later than we’re used to around here. No big deal. But if you’re curious as to why the first injury report of the week is dropping on Thursday instead of its usual Wednesday slot, there is your explanation.

That said, the Bears injury report is more encouraging that I was expecting.

Chicago Bears Injury Report – Oct. 29, 2026

Running back Kyle Monangai (thumb, toe) remains sidelined. Monangai hasn’t played since Chicago’s Week 4 win against the New York Jets. Earlier in the week, we shared reporting from NFL insider Ian Rapoport that suggested Monangai could miss a fourth straight game because of the turf toe injury. For what it’s worth, ESPN NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler hears that Monangai’s chances of playing this week are “better.” Maybe injury reports on Friday and Saturday will reflect that optimism. Mandatory Credit: Mike Dinovo-Imagn Images It is worth noting that the Bears didn’t have a traditional practice. Had they gone through a practice, linbebacker D’Marco Jackson (ankle) and cornerback Malik Muhammad (toe) would have been listed as limited participants. Jackson got a game ball from Bears Head Coach Ben Johnson after the team’s win against the New England Patriots in Week 7 on Thursday Night Football. It would be nice to have him playing behind new defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons on Monday. As for Muhammad, his toe injury is one to watch because he is the defensive back I trust most (right now) to cover Seattle Seahawks star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Muhammad played well in coverage against A.J. Brown, so I’d like to see how he fares against JSN. We’ll round out this installment of the Bears injury report with some good news about a pair of linebackers. T.J. Edwards (hamstring) and Jack Sanborn (concussion) would have been full participants had Chicago practiced on Thursday. Edwards was having a solid season before his injury, while Sanborn is popular among fans and contributes as a solid special teams performer. Getting healthy depth pieces back in the mix is a good thing in my book!
