Meeting on historic Olmstead Canal Bridges
Monroe County is holding an open house on Wednesday to allow the public to weigh in on the future of three historic pedestrian bridges in Genesee Valley Park.
This comes ahead of a study that will develop recommendations for the short-term and long-term maintenance of the bridges. The Olmsted Brothers firm built those bridges in the 1910s to reconnect the park’s paths that the Erie Canal severed. The county is looking for feedback from people who use those bridges for walking, running, cycling, or other activities.
