PFF grades reveal Broncos’ best and worst performers in Week 7’s dominant win ...Middle East

After being labeled “disrespectful to the position,” Bo Nix responded with his best performance of the season. The Denver Broncos came out firing in a 30-16 win over the Arizona Cardinals, delivering arguably their least stressful victory of the year. The timing couldn’t be better, either, with a rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs looming after their division rivals suffered their first loss of the season.

Pro Football Focus (PFF) has released its Week 7 player grades, offering a closer look at Denver’s best and worst individual performances from the win.

Offense

Best

RB J.K. Dobbins: 88.2 OL Alex Palczewski: 85.0 WR Marvin Mims Jr.: 72.3 C Luke Wattenberg: 71.3 RB RJ Harvey: 71.2

Jonah Coleman (70.4) narrowly missed the top five, finishing at No. 6. His ranking is a bit puzzling considering he led all running backs with 54 rushing yards, averaged 6.0 yards per carry, and recorded the longest run of the day at 15 yards. Coleman also led the backfield with a 50% snap share. It’s no coincidence that the Broncos’ best offensive performance of the season came with Coleman back in the lineup and playing a significant role.

Worst

TE Adam Trautman: 44.6 WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey: 48.1 WR Troy Franklin: 48.7 OT Mike McGlinchey: 51.9 TE Evan Engram: 53.2

Excluding McGlinchey, the other four combined for just two catches for seven yards on seven targets. Big plays defined the day, with most of the Broncos’ points coming off catches of 20-plus yards and no receiver recording more than four receptions. That said, Trautman made an impact in other ways, including running a convincing fake route that tricked the defensive back and allowing Nix (65.0) to rush for a 62-yard touchdown.

Defense

Best

ILB Justin Strnad: 86.2 OLB Nik Bonitto: 83.1 DL Zach Allen: 79.1 OLB Que Robinson: 77.7 OLB Dondrea Tillman: 75.9

Per PFF, Strnad recorded six total tackles without missing a single one. His strongest grade came in coverage, where he earned a 90.2. Although he allowed four receptions on five targets, he limited the damage to just 19 yards.

Worst

CB Jahdae Barron: 42.0 S Taylor Rapp: 50.5 DL Malcolm Roach: 56.8 S Devon Key: 59.6 OLB Jonathon Cooper: 62.1

In Barron’s defense, the second-year player spent most of the game covering Trey McBride while filling in for Pat Surtain. He allowed four receptions on five targets for 41 yards and a touchdown, along with two pass interference penalties in the red zone. However, neither penalty resulted in any additional yardage for Arizona.

Special Teams

ST Adam Prentice: 88.8 LS Mitchell Fraboni: 64.8 KR Marvin Mims Jr.: 63.3 P Jeremy Crawshaw: 63.1 K Wil Lutz: 70.2 (FG) 56.9 (KO)

Prentice received a game ball for his blocked punt.

With the Chiefs falling to the Seahawks on Sunday night, the Broncos have an opportunity to grab first in the AFC West Division. Kickoff is this Sunday at 2:25 pm MST.
