Some roads were blocked in a suburban Rolling Meadows neighborhood after an apparent serious-injury crash, with photos and video from the scene showing a heavily damaged car on the front lawn of a home and debris strewn across the grass and street.
The crash happened overnight in the 2100 block of Kirchoff Road, NBC 5 traffic reporter Kye Martin said. It wasn’t immediately how many people were in the car, or how many were injured.
Video captured at the scene showed a crunched-up grey sedan with its airbags deployed. Knocked-over trash and recycling cans could be seen left in the car’s apparent path as police collected evidence and blocked off the area.
In the 4 a.m. hour, Kirchoff Road between Wilke and Oriole roads remained closed.
