The Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) named veteran NBC 5 Chicago (WMAQ-TV) anchor Allison Rosati to the “Chicago Silver Circle” Class of 2027.
The announcement was made Saturday (Oct. 24) during the 68th annual Chicago/Midwest Emmy® Awards ceremony at the Swissotel in downtown Chicago.
In addition at this year’s ceremony, NBCUniversal Local Chicago — NBC 5 Chicago & Telemundo Chicago (WSNS) — earned seven Emmy® Awards for the 2025-26 television season.
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences established the Silver Circle as a society of honor recognizing outstanding individuals who have provided distinguished service to the television industry for 25 years or more. Membership in the Silver Circle is one of the highest honors bestowed by NATAS. Television professionals are inducted into this prestigious group in recognition of their significant contributions to Chicago broadcasting. The upcoming Chicago Silver Circle induction ceremony will be held in the spring of 2027.
One of Chicago’s most popular and respected local news personalities for more than 35 years, Rosati joined NBC 5 Chicago in 1990 as an anchor and reporter. Viewers quickly became familiar with her work and passion for delivering the news with flair on “First Thing in the Morning,” and in 1995, she was promoted to anchor the station’s early evening newscast. By 1997, Rosati was named co-anchor of NBC 5’s 10 p.m. newscast. She began her broadcast career in Rochester, Minn. at KTTC-TV in 1985 before moving on to WGRZ-TV in Buffalo, NY, where she anchored the 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts. Rosati can currently be seen co-anchoring NBC 5’s 5, 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts Sunday through Thursday.
Rosati has received numerous national and local honors for her work on stories, series and specials that have made a meaningful impact across Chicago and its surrounding communities. Among her numerous industry and civic accolades, her Emmy Award-winning “Wednesday’s Child” helped connect children with adoptive families, while her “Smart Choices, Safe Kids” special earned a national Gracie Award from American Women in Radio and Television for educating children and parents about child predators and their tactics. Rosati also received the prestigious Dante Award from the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans.
“Allison has been a trusted and beloved presence in Chicago for more than three decades, and this honor is a fitting recognition of the tremendous impact she has made on our viewers, our station and our community,” said Kevin Cross, President/General Manager, NBCUniversal Local Chicago. “Her passion for journalism, commitment to public service and genuine connection with the people of Chicago have defined an extraordinary career. We couldn’t be prouder to see Allison receive this well-deserved honor.”
