Former actress Jeri Weil, who famously portrayed the antagonistic Leave It to Beaver character, Judy Hensler, has mostly stepped away from Hollywood after departing the beloved series in 1960.

The Daily Mail reported that Weil was recently photographed by paparazzi while taking a Los Angeles stroll.

Weil, who came back to play Judy for The New Leave It to Beaver, which premiered in 1987, sported a blouse, a denim prairie skirt, and sandals. She accessorized the look with a sunhat, yellow-tinted sunglasses, a necklace, and a multi-colored woven bag.

Jeri Weil Got Candid About Her Exit From ‘Leave It to Beaver’

In a March 2025 interview with ReMind magazine, Weil discussed departing Leave It to Beaver amid its fourth season.

She explained to the publication that she was forced to wear ACE bandages on her chest following puberty for Leave It to Beaver episodes. In addition, she was upset after filming “a scene where there was a baseball game, and of course, Judy hits a home run.” She said she was directed to twirl her skirt, which mortified her as she was wearing a sanitary pad.

“I was growing up. The boys didn’t show that they were growing up,” said Weil.

Weil said those situations caused her to have “a bad taste in [her] mouth.”

“I just stopped and wanted nothing to do with it. I read once where it said they fired me, but that wasn’t true. They didn’t fire me. I don’t know where I read that, but they didn’t let me go. I let them go. That’s the true story,” said Weil while speaking to ReMind.

Weil also told ReMind that she “wasn’t under contract” while playing Beaver’s (Jerry Mathers) classmate.

“[S]o I didn’t go to school on the set all the time. I only went to school on the set when I was working. Other than that, I was going to regular public school,” said Weil, now 78.

According to Weil, she was treated poorly by her public school classmates because of her role on Leave It to Beaver, which ended after a six-season run in 1963.

“When I started junior high, nobody would even talk to me. I mean, they wouldn’t. One girl talked to me, and she became my best friend. It wasn’t comfortable. I’ll tell you that,” said Weil in the 2025 interview. “I mean, I was Judy — who wanted to be friends with Judy Hensler?! They didn’t know that wasn’t who I was — to them, I was Judy. So that’s the only way they knew me. They never bothered to want to get to know me. They just wanted nothing to do with Judy Hensler.”
