The brand has teamed up with Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom for the Wild Revival Collection, a limited-edition lineup of five animal-shaped Chia Pets. Announced Oct. 15, the collection is available for presale, with each design selling for $29.99.
Chia Pet’s New Collection Features 5 Animals
The collection includes an American bison, red panda, sea otter, sea turtle and bald eagle. Each planter grows its signature green chia sprouts while its packaging shares information about the featured animal and the conservation work helping protect the species.
The designs celebrate animals with remarkable comeback stories, including bald eagles, which rebounded after once being endangered, and sea otters, which were hunted to near extinction. Other featured animals, including red pandas and sea turtles, still face threats and need ongoing conservation efforts.
The Collection Also Gives Back
There’s more to the collaboration than a quirky new addition to a windowsill. Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom will donate a portion of the proceeds from every Wild Revival Collection Chia Pet sold to the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).
The contribution will support the AZA’s conservation network, including its SAFE: Saving Animals From Extinction program, which brings conservation partners together to protect vulnerable species and restore habitats.
The collaboration also gives families a hands-on way to learn about wildlife at home. Each planter offers a conversation starter about the animals it represents and the efforts needed to protect them.
Where to Get the Wild Revival Collection
The five designs are available for presale through Chia.com. The collection is also expected to arrive on Amazon and at select Association of Zoos and Aquariums-accredited locations across the United States.
