If your family’s Elf on the Shelf is usually getting into mischief around the house, this holiday season, Santa’s Scout Elves are heading somewhere a little more unexpected: under the sea.
The Elf on the Shelf is teaming up with SEA LIFE Aquariums for a new interactive Christmas experience at nine locations across the United States. Beginning Nov. 20 at most participating aquariums, families can join The Sea Star Search with The Elf on the Shelf, a festive scavenger hunt that sends kids on a mission to recover missing decorations from an underwater Christmas tree.

The storyline? Christmas is in peril because decorations have mysteriously disappeared from the Undersea Christmas Tree, including the special Christmas Sea Star that belongs at the very top. Santa has sent his Scout Elves to help recover the missing decorations, but they’ll need aquarium guests to pitch in and save the holiday.
Included with a general admission ticket, the experience sends guests on a hunt for missing ornaments throughout the aquarium. Along the way, families will spot Scout Elves, complete festive challenges and collect pieces of a Christmas Sea Star medallion to take home. Those who finish the trail will also receive an exclusive Elf on the Shelf Christmas Star Certificate.
