Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage is undergoing yet another shocking physical transformation for his latest cinematic role, leaving his fans completely stunned. The Independent Film Company just released an unexpected trailer video for the upcoming thriller Best Pancakes in the County. In the fast-paced teaser you can watch here, Nicolas Cage, 62, debuts black hair and a brand-new prosthetic nose that makes the veteran Hollywood actor look completely unrecognizable behind the intense character.
Set over the course of one explosive night, the gripping film transforms an unassuming, small-town roadside diner into the chaotic epicenter of a deadly standoff. Cage portrays a dangerous criminal who sets up a specific meeting at the diner to find a hard drive containing heavy dirt on the CIA. In the footage, the actor visually disappears into the role, rocking a jet-black curly wig, large glasses, and a gaudy suit as he faces off against rogue federal agents.
The high-stakes project also stars Justin Long and Shelley Hennig as diner employees who get caught up in the crossfire. Written and directed by Ken Sanzel, the tense action-thriller boasts a stellar supporting cast that includes Lauren German, Ravi Patel, Kelly Greyson, Jaylen Moore, Michael Sirow, and Brandon Mychal Smith.
This unexpected video marks a clear continuation of Cage’s recent penchant for extreme on-screen transformations. He previously shocked global audiences with his appearance in the 2023 dark comedy Dream Scenario and the 2024 horror phenomenon Longlegs. Additionally, the actor utilized extensive prosthetics and heavy makeup to embody NFL legend John Madden in the highly anticipated Prime Video biographical drama Madden, which hits select theater screens on November 11 and streams globally on November 18.
Moviegoers will not have to wait very long to see the star’s latest wild look on the big screen. Best Pancakes in the County is officially scheduled to hit select physical theaters and digital streaming platforms nationwide starting on November 20.
