The annual ranking for the top 400 franchises in the US has come out, and a popular coffee house founded in 1963 made the list.
The Franchise Times released its exclusive rankings based on “global systemwide sales,” per its website. It takes five months for the list to be completed.
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf was listed at No. 111, making it one of the largest franchises in the US. The Southern California-born company has over 1,100 locations in 27 countries.
“For more than 60 years, The Coffee Bean & Tea Lea® has built its reputation around quality, innovation and the connections that happen over a great cup of coffee or tea,” Peter Vavra, director of franchise development, said in a press release. “Being recognized on the Franchise Times Top 400 is a reflection of the strength of our brand, the dedication of our franchisees and the opportunities we see to continue introducing The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf to new communities around the world.”
The company has multiple styles of locations, including traditional coffee shops, endcaps, drive-thrus, and kiosks.
“The coffee and tea category is evolving and the expectations of today’s consumers are evolving alongside it,” Vavra continued. “Our focus is on giving franchisees the flexibility, resources and support they need to meet those expectations while maintaining the quality and hospitality that have defined The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf for decades.”
Coffee Bean was acquired by the Jollibee Foods Corporation in 2019.
