The SGA Senate confirmed two new Graduate School senators and the CrossingPoints Delegate in a special session held Thursday.
Olabayo Awodirepo and Cameron Morgan, senators-elect for the Graduate School, were confirmed following a special election held Sept. 16. Jack Robinson was confirmed as the CrossingPoints Delegate.
At 7:09 p.m., Awodirepo and Morgan were confirmed after swearing their oaths of office. The vote was unanimous for both senators.
At 7:14 p.m., Robinson was confirmed as the CrossingPoints Delegate, a non-voting senate position created October 2025. The role functions to foster relationships between SGA and CrossingPoints, a University program that provides services to students with intellectual disabilities.
Before Senate voting commenced, Robinson addressed the Senate.
“I have been in SGA for three years now, and SGA has given me a lot of experiences,” Robinson said. “I’m proud to be able to tell the world that people living with Down syndrome are capable of contributing to great organizations like SGA. I am grateful for my time in SGA and all of the friends that I have made.”
The vote was unanimous.
This marks Robinson’s third term in SGA. Last semester, he served as the inaugural CrossingPoints delegate in the Senate following his historic term as the first CrossingPoints First Year Council Delegate.
The final special election of the academic year will be held on Nov. 13 to fill two remaining open senate seats: one in the Graduate School and the other in the School of Social Work.
