The Chicago Bears have made a flurry of roster moves Saturday before their game against the Atlanta Falcons.
The biggest news came with the return of defensive back Kyler Gordon, who was activated from the physically unable to perform list, according to the team.
Gordon had missed the first five games of the season with a calf injury, but he will be available for the Bears as they take on the Falcons in Atlanta on Sunday.
In another roster move, the Bears signed defensive back Nick McCloud to their active roster, and released defensive back Xavier Woods from his contract.
Woods appeared in four games for the Bears this season, recovering a fumble and registering 12 combined tackles for Chicago.
The Bears did also get some bad news on the injury front, as defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo was placed on injured reserve as he deals with a quadriceps injury. Odeyingbo has been an important part of the Bears’ pass rush, with three sacks so far this season.
His loss comes as the team will also be without Montez Sweat for two games after his suspension for violating the NFL’s performance enhancing substances policy.
In two final moves, the Bears elevated running back Zavier Scott and linebacker Buddy Johnson from the practice squad.
Scott’s elevation comes as Kyle Monangai will miss his second consecutive game for the Bears with toe and thumb injuries, and the Bears will also be without linebackers TJ Edwards and Keyshaun Elliott against the Falcons, with both players already ruled out with injuries.
Kickoff is set for noon between the teams on Sunday, with the game airing on Fox.
