While most people think of Walt Disney World as a destination for families with kids, the sprawling resort in Orlando is increasingly catering to adults without kids.
Just look at the opening of EPCOT’s adult-only lounge GEO-82, or the recently opened Hurly Burly at Disney’s BoardWalk, which is exclusively for those 21 and older after 9 pm. But outside the parks and resorts (the latter of which are hard to access without a room or dining reservation), there’s one other place I never skip as an adult going to Walt Disney World without kids.
Nestled in a cozy corner of Disney Springs is Wine Bar George, the only master-sommelier-led wine bar in Florida. The wine bar and restaurant has a long list of accolades, though the most impressive may be that The World of Fine Wine announced Wine Bar George has the Best By-The-Glass Wine List with Coravin in the World in 2025. Last year’s win was the fourth Global win from the World of Fine Wine.

What Is The Wine Service Like At Wine Bar George?
If you get the chance to see George Miliotes during your visit to Wine Bar George, be sure to take time to chat. He loves sharing his wine knowledge with people.Wine Bar George
As a frequent Wine Bar George guest, I can confidently say it’s one of the best spots at Walt Disney World. It’s warm and welcoming, without being pretentious. I’ll never forget my first visit to Wine Bar George and meeting the restaurant’s namesake, George Miliotes, who told me he didn’t care what type of wine I liked, whether it was a boxed wine in the back of my fridge or the most expensive bottle on earth. As long as I was enjoying it, that’s all that mattered to him.
The servers are knowledgeable about the wine list, which features more than 200 wines, all available by the ounce, glass, or bottle. Oftentimes, when I can’t decide what I want, I have a server pick for me. They ask a few questions and can pick a wine I will enjoy based on my answers within two tries. If you’re lucky, Miliotes himself may just pick your perfect pour.
The wine menu is vast, though easy to read and understand, even for novice wine drinkers. It’s broken down by wine types, from Champagne and sparkling to whites and reds. There’s also a large section dedicated to outstanding wines by the ounce and George’s most recent finds. On my last visit to Wine Bar George, the George’s Finds section featured wines from France’s Alsace region. Wine Bar George has a small selection of wines on tap. My favorite is the Sabine rosé, which is $9 a glass.
And speaking of prices, much of the menu is actually really affordable, ranging from that $9 glass of rosé to many six-ounce pours under $25. Of course, a handful of more expensive glasses are also on the menu, though these are usually rare or limited-run options. And for the true wine connoisseur, there is a selection of tasting experiences. I’m particularly interested in the Champagne Experience for $75, trying three Champagnes, ranging from Brut Rosés to Extra Brut varietals.
If you’re not a wine fan, do not worry. Wine Bar George features a rotating list of seasonal cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks. One of my favorites is the Wake Up Call, a twist on an espresso martini, made with espresso-infused pisco and espresso liqueur. My dad also loves the Wine Bar George Old Fashioned, which is a traditional Old Fashioned made by the restaurant’s expert bartender.
On my most recent visit, I opted for the seasonal Blood Moon, a mezcal and tequila-based drink mixed with a house-made red wine syrup. On those really hot Florida afternoons, the Cherry Smash is a refreshing take on a cherry lime soda, and it’s also zero-proof, meaning anyone can enjoy it.

The Food Is Part Of The Experience At Wine Bar George
Do not skip ordering the meatballs and mac and cheese bites on your next visit to Wine Bar George.Megan duBois
Equally as good as the wine and cocktail program is Wine Bar George’s food. The restaurant is open for dinner every night, plus lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, brunch is served from 10:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. No matter which mealtime you pick, you’ll be able to try some of the iconic dishes from the restaurant, including the crispy mac and cheese bites, house-made meatballs, and the Saganaki on fire (a type of Greek cheese, served in a traditional small frying pan, and lit on fire tableside). A selection of cheese and charcuterie boards is also great for snacking on while sipping drinks.
What I love most about dining at Wine Bar George is that there’s always something new to try since menus rotate seasonally. On my most recent visit, the dinner menu highlighted heartier fall dishes, with roasted mushroom risotto, pork belly with charred cabbage and pears, and braised pork osso bucco. Lunch is also a delight with a good mix of shareable plates, like those house-made meatballs, plus larger entrees like steak frites, smash burgers, and chicken salad sandwiches.
If you’re looking for a boozy brunch after a night out at EPCOT, Wine Bar George’s Wine Country Brunch may be the reservation worth getting. Of course, the crispy mac and cheese bites are on the menu. But the real highlight is the brunch board, which features chicken sausage, hash browns, candied pork belly, and more. The entrees are also hearty, with sweet options like a seasonally stuffed French toast (the fall option highlights apples and rum caramel) and savory plates like sausage gravy and biscuits.

What Makes Wine Bar George Stand Out Among Other Disney Restaurants?
With a bountiful array of drinks on the menu, everyone will find something to enjoy at Wine Bar George.Megan duBois
I’ve been going to Walt Disney World my whole life, and I’ve eaten at nearly every restaurant the resort has to offer. And while I’ll always have my in-park favorites, Wine Bar George is my go-to for some adult time away from the hustle and bustle of Magic Kingdom. While the restaurant does allow children, it definitely leans towards an adult atmosphere.
The large wine list is what first drew me to the restaurant, but the high level of service, attention to detail, and equally as delightful food menus are what keep me coming back. The consistency of all of these things always makes me confident when I suggest Wine Bar George to a friend or family member looking for a new place to try on their next trip to Walt Disney World.
