Indian swimmer Sajan Prakash has reportedly been selected to the Asia Aquatics Athletes Commission, a body intended to represent athletes within the continent’s aquatic sports community.
A two-time Olympian, Prakash represented India at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. He is also the first Indian swimmer to achieve the Olympic ‘A’ qualification standard, accomplishing the feat in the men’s 200m butterfly in 2021.
His appointment would mark another step in his involvement in athlete representation, following his candidacy for the World Aquatics Athletes’ Committee in 2025.
Coach Pradeep Kumar congratulated Prakash on the achievement in his social media post-
“Sajan Prakash from India is elected as Asia Aquatics Athlete commission member in Swimming discipline for next term of 4 years. Congratulations Sajan”
