Her time was a tenth faster than the 50.42 European record she set at the 2025 SC European Championships, taking down Sarah Sjostrom‘s former record time of 50.58.
Steenbergen was out a little slower than she was in Poland last December, swimming 24.37 on the first 50 to the 24.33 she swam last year. She came home faster, though, swimming 25.95 to dip under the 26 second mark for her closing 50.
