Shimron Hetmyer looked not happy as he had to walk back into the pavilion after facing only 2 balls and scoring only 5 runs. Shimron Hetmyer could be a massive threat for the Indian cricket team, but his innings came abruptly short tonight.
Captain Shreyas Iyer was near Patel, who quickly collected the ball and threw it to the keeper,r Sanju Samson. Samson took the bails off with the ball in his gloves. The batter made a diving effort to make himself safe. But while his body was on the ground, the toe end of the bat was in the air. Therefore, the umpire made the right decision to declare Shimron Hetmyer run out.

Why is there controversy with the run out?
Even playing the run-out video multiple times in slow motion may not be enough to erase the controversy from the discussion. There was no second opinion that Hetmyer's toe end of the bat was in the air while Sanju Samson was collecting the throw from Shreyas Iyer. The moment Samson hit the stumps made the scene more interesting.
