Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown) has spent all year trying to destroy half-sister Shona Platt’s (Julia Goulding) strong family unit in Coronation Street.
Along the way, Jodie has lied about being abused by a partner, inflicted a violent attack on Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien), burgled a number of locals, trolled Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), swapped dad Doug's (Steve Evets) bipolar medication and used baby niece Harper in her manipulations.
Earlier this year, at the Radio Times Covers Party, Brown teased: "She's a mixed bag. She's definitely not a one-dimensional character. She's a multi-multi-dimensional character. She's troubled, she's very hurt. I think deep inside she's quite a lot going on. She feels quite wronged.
This week, the gun Jodie stole will be fired. But despite the hint that Jodie may finally be poised to face some consequences, we’re bracing ourselves for more vile plotting before she’s truly made to pay.
So, as another explosive week kicks off for the Platts, let’s explore how Jodie might be brought to justice.
Bethany delivers poetic justice
Bethany has never trusted Jodie, so although she may allow herself to be blackmailed at first, might Bethany come clean to mum Sarah, thwarting Jodie’s attempts to silence her? Then again, it's never that simple!
A covert operation such as this would derail Jodie's plotting, leaving her at the mercy of the same torment she's been happily inflicting on others. It's the perfect payback!
David sets a trap for Jodie
The David we know is much too savvy to fall for Jodie’s manipulations, though, and it’s high time he turned the tables on her. Our theory? He tricks Jodie into thinking he wants her – only to coax a confession out of her.
Such an open-ended conclusion would leave a dark cloud hanging over the Platts, knowing Jodie’s Revenge 2.0 could strike at any moment - particularly if there's still time left on the character's clock.
A traumatic spiral paves the way for Jodie’s redemption
In one respect, there are Doug’s red flag warnings about Jodie, which have yet to be elaborated on; but then there’s her deeply-rooted turmoil over her childhood. Given she resents Shona for leaving her with their dad in their youth, what might she have been through to make her so unhinged?
As with Hollyoaks' Sienna Blake (Anna Passey), the right arc could change Jodie’s path, moulding her into an anti-hero with both attitude and staying power.

Jodie goes to prison - on-screen
She’s full of vindictive glee right now, so what better way to bring Jodie down than to rip away her freedom and watch as she’s left isolated and without the attention she so craves?
With her cruel streak currently in full force, this change of pace would certainly satisfy those desperate to see Jodie’s downfall.
Jodie’s connection with Emmerdale's Graham Foster is revisited
Now that Graham has moved out of Home Farm in Emmerdale, perhaps he could rock up on the cobbles and kidnap Jodie once more for that gang of men, who suspect she has copies of the mysterious USB drive she handed over.
Then again, perhaps the secrets involved here would only add to Jodie’s dark layers as she takes things to the next level…
Long road to retribution
The actress has teased of Jodie that "when pushed, you just don't know what she’s capable of". And with plenty of time to flesh out what makes her tick, Jodie could turn out to be even more dangerous than expected.
There’s also scope to embrace her camp side after that memorable scene in which she donned Shona’s wedding dress, paving the way for her day of reckoning to be a gloriously theatrical affair.
