GREECE, N.Y. — The Ridge Road Fire District in Greece celebrated a major accomplishment after earning the highest rating from the Insurance Services Office for its fire protection work.
Ridge Road is now one of only eight communities in New York to hold the Class 1 rating out of the more than 2,000 evaluated in the state. This recognition came after the district requested an evaluation last year.
“I think it’s a direct reflection of the response and service that we provide. The amount of training hours that we conduct and the level of professionalism that our personnel have,” said Ridge Road Fire District Chief Sean McGarry.
The distinction is also a bonus for people who live in the district, as insurance companies use the Class One rating when deciding property coverage, deductibles and pricing.
