In the September 28 episode of his podcast, Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend, O’Brien shared that he saw David and his wife, Ashley Underwood, at a restaurant. He said he decided to “walk up to the table to say, ‘Hi,'” to the couple before he realized David was in the middle of an argument with the waiter over his meal.
“The waiter brought him a turkey sandwich with no mustard. And he’s like, ‘In the history of sandwiches, when has mustard not been part of the equation?'” recalled O’Brien with a laugh.
O’Brien then noted that the situation felt like something the fictional David, known for getting into arguments and making social faux pas, would do on Curb Your Enthusiasm.
“I said to him, ‘Larry, there’s no cameras,'” said O’Brien on his podcast.
