Chicago police are investigating after a group of suspects hit at least six businesses in a spree of smash-and-grab burglaries Friday morning.
According to Chicago police, the burglars targeted businesses in multiple South Side neighborhoods, including in the Hyde Park and Grand Boulevard neighborhoods.
The robberies occurred in just over an hour, with the thefts reported between 4 a.m. and 5:10 a.m. according to police.
The businesses were impacted at:
1600 block of East 53rd Street between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m.
4800 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue at 4:02 a.m.
5200 block of South Ashland Avenue at 4:22 a.m.
5300 block of South Hyde Park Boulevard at 4:53 a.m.
1500 block of East 55th Street at 5:08 a.m.

In each robbery, between one and four suspects broke into businesses via a glass door or window. They then stole cash registers from businesses and fled the scene in a black Honda CRV, according to Chicago police.
