Our Chicago Bulls are making some personnel changes all over the place — in the broadcast booth, among the basketball operations and training staff, and on the floor.
Let’s dig into it with today’s Bulls Bullets!

The Bulls’ plan to replace the late great Stacey King on Chicago Sports Network TV broadcasts is coming into focus, with an update from the team itself! Alongside play-by-play commentator Adam Amin, the Bulls will indeed trot out a rotation of color commentators. Beyond the previously reported new additions of Kendall Gill, Robbie Hummel, and title-era Bulls bigs Will Perdue and Scott Williams, Chicago will also add longtime radio commentator (and our close personal pal) and three-time champ Bill Wennington! Our @CHSN__ broadcast team will include Adam Amin and a rotation of analysts, including Kendall Gill, Robbie Hummel, Will Perdue, Bill Wennington and Scott Williams. t.co/OWHqszcLIk
— Chicago Bulls (@chicagobulls) September 24, 2026 Wennington, like King, has always brought levity and warmth to his Bulls broadcasts next to Chuck Swirsky. He’s a great choice to succeed King on the TV side in some capacity, although of course he will be missed on the radio when he does have to hop over. Wennington joined the Bulls as a free agent in 1993, after two years logged abroad with Italian club Virtus Bologna. A then-rare jump-shooting center, he spelled Luc Longley off the bench as a core rotation piece on Chicago’s second three-peat teams, from the 1995-96 season through 1997-98. During his six seasons with Chicago from 1993-99, Wennington averaged 5.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 0.6 assists across 13.9 minutes per. Chicago is reportedly adding a new player to its training camp roster. Per Gavin Dorsey of Roundtable, the Bulls are bringing aboard undrafted free agent rookie Peter Suder, formerly with Miami University in Ohio. Dorsey posits that Suder will likely compete with ex-Alabama guard Houston Mallette for Chicago’s third two-way slot. Guard Jaylin Sellers and center Tobe Awaka currently boast the Bulls’ other two-way contracts. Alabama initially announced that Mallette had been inked to a two-way deal, but it appears the Crimson Tide were jumping the gun. The No. 1 point guard in Chicago Bulls history, 2011 MVP Derrick Rose, and (as of now) the No. 11 point guard, Josh Giddey, linked up to take in the President’s Cup action Thursday at Medinah Country Club.Josh Giddey ? — CHGO Bulls (@CHGO_Bulls) September 24, 2026 The Bulls have also announced their revamped basketball operations staff under new executive vice president Bryson Graham. Beyond several previously announced hires — including new senior VP of basketball operations Stephen Mervis and new vice president of player personnel Acie Law IV — Chicago has also promoted 15-year mainstay Brian Hagen to a senior vice president of player personnel role and has hired ex-head Dallas Mavericks athletic trainer Dionne Calhoun to serve as the club’s assistant athletic trainer.Read more: t.co/ANuyf8gzAQ
— Chicago Bulls (@chicagobulls) September 24, 2026 Hall of Fame former St. Louis Hawks power forward/center Bob Pettit, one of the few guys who actually beat Bill Russell in an NBA Finals, sadly passed away at age 93. A two-time MVP, 11-time All-NBA Teamer and All-Star, Pettit led the Hawks to their 1958 championship against Russell’s Boston Celtics — representing one of the two instances the five-time Boston MVP center didn’t hoist a trophy in his 13-year career. Pettit, meanwhile, finished with career averages of a still-stellar 26.4 points, 16.2 rebounds, and 3.0 assists. Finally, the WNBA playoffs’ first-round matchups are set — and, for the third straight year, they will be without our Chicago Sky! The No. 1-seeded Minnesota Lynx will play the No. 8-seeded New York Liberty in a 2025 Finals rematch. Two rising squads, the second-year Golden State Valkyries (the No. 2 seed) and Paige Bueckers’ Dallas Wings (No. 7) will face off — without top pick Azzi Fudd and perhaps Alanna Smith for Dallas. The reigning champion Las Vegas Aces (No. 3) will clash with Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever (No. 6). Angel Reese’s No. 4-seeded Atlanta Dream will play the Washington Mystics (No. 5) in a jumbo-sized best-of-three series. The spots are locked and the teams are ready to go ?Check out the official bracket for the 2026 WNBA Playoffs presented by @madebygoogle.See you Sunday for the First Round! pic.twitter.com/mlwZrm9xxI
