Patrick Flowers: D’Andre Swift & Kyle Monangai — No disrespect to Case Keenum, but he’s a game manager at best at this point in his career, so the path to a Bears victory on Monday starts in the backfield with Swift and Monangai. When these two teams met last November, Swift ran for 125 yards and a touchdown, and Monangai rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown in a road win over Philadelphia.
The Bears backfield tandem was equally good to open this season; no matter who is under center, Chicago’s offense starts on the ground (Eagles DC Vic Fangio even said as much this week). They’ve got the offensive line and the backs to make Philly hurt and cover up any dropoff between Keenum and Williams, for at least one week.
Monangai is listed on the Bears injury report with a knee injury, but if I had to guess, that’s going to be something we see on paper a bunch this year, and he’ll be managing and playing through it for most of the season. I think he plays on Monday, and I think we see more out of him that we’ve seen in the first two weeks, and that’s explosiveness. Monangai’s 7.4 yards per carry this season are the most of any ball carrier with at least 15 rushing attempts, and while he’s not as elusive as Swift, he’s a bruiser who eats yards after first contact for breakfast.

One of the front office’s premium offseason additions, Bush has yet to make the type of impact you’d want from a big-ticket free-agent addition. Instead, Bush’s most memorable moments from the first two weeks were getting demolished by a block in Week 1 and dropping what would have been a Carson Wentz interception in Week 2.The way I see it, there is no better way to have a breakout performance with your new team than under the bright lights of Monday Night Football. If Bush has a big game, it will likely mean Eagles running back Saquon Barkley has been held in check. Hopefully, Bush can come through in Week 3.

If the Bears are going to win on Monday Night Football, they’ll have to dominate on the ground as they did on Black Friday in Philly last season.
Case Keenum can’t be asked to do too much. Ben Johnson loves running behind Wright and Jackson. They’ll have to control the line of scrimmage, create movement, and clear lanes for the running backs. The game will be won and lost in the trenches on Monday; hopefully, Wright, Jackson, and the rest of the Bears offensive line take that challenge to heart against a very good Eagles defensive line.
